Support Us
The Rifles Museum Charitable Trust is the organisation responsible for running The Rifles Museum. The Charity has a series of objectives based around educating the public and members of the armed forces in the history of the Rifles Regiment and its antecedent regiments. We achieve this through the acquisition and preservation of material and then exhibiting and providing research access to this collection. This work requires more resources than we have available to us and so we are always grateful for help in a wide selection of areas. Whether you are able to offer financial support or would like to share your time with us through volunteering we would love to hear from you. If you are offering historical material to the Museum, please go to our Collections, Education and Research page for details on how to contact us.
Donate to The Rifles Museum
The Rifles Museum is reliant on financial support to operate. Our core funding comes through Grant-in-Aid from the Ministry of Defence, via the British Army and the Army Museums Ogilby Trust, and The Rifles Regiment themselves. However, to further develop and grow we need the generous support of the public and individual donors to help fund additional projects and activities. If you would like, and are able to make a donation to the Museum Trust, please use the form below or contact us at museum@the-rifles.co.uk.
During 2021 we will also be outlining specific projects that we will begin fundraising for. Some projects we are currently planning include: improvements to the Museum itself; additional improvements and features on our online platforms including our social media channels; and developing the Regimental Archive including the expansion of our oral history collections. There will be the chance to support these projects specifically through links on this page, and we will ring-fence your donation in each case. More details on each project will be released here and across our social media channels as 2021 continues.
If you represent a company or organisation, or are an individual, who is willing and able to support the Museum Trust and our activities over the long term, please contact us directly and we would be delighted to discuss what opportunities are able for us to collaborate.
Volunteering
The Rifles Museum is reliant on the generosity of the general public, and particularly those that volunteer with us. Many of our volunteers support us once a week, with a variety of tasks from researching content for temporary exhibitions, or our website redevelopment, to auditing collections and redisplaying galleries.
We are particularly keen to hear from people interested in assisting with our family activities and events, and those who are interested in working in our shared front-of-house area, run by The Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum.
If you’re interested in helping us out, please contact us on: museum@the-rifles.co.uk
