Peninsula Poppies

To mark Remembrance Day, The Rifles Museum hosted ‘Peninsula Poppies’, between the 8-13th November. The self-led activities included paper plate poppy making and Remembrance-themed colouring.

Poppy making had previously been an annual activity in the Museum. However, it had not taken place in 2020, due to the pandemic. Most of the supplies for the activity were still in our supply cupboard and were finally able to be put to good use!

The activity was set-up first thing on Monday and ran throughout the week. ‘Peninsula Poppies’ was largely self-led, due in part to Winchester Military Museums hosting school visits.

Many thanks to all those who came along and created a poppy or poppy wreath. Make sure to come in again in the first two weeks of December for Christmas Card Making!
