Who We Are
The Rifles Museum, situated in the heart of Winchester, offers a fascinating insight into the story of the largest infantry regiment of the British Army.
Immerse yourself into their history and exciting campaigns, and find out what it is like to be a Rifleman, including trying on their uniform and battle armour!
Packed with personal items and individual soldiers’ accounts, it is a meaningful experience for all to enjoy and explore.

As part of Winchester’s Military Museums Lunchtime Lecture series the Curator, Christopher Gale, will be giving a talk on the uniform headwear used by the Royal Marines. With significant overlap with the Army’s uniforms, this talk will be of interest to anyone with an interest in hats and military fashion over the past 350 years.
Tickets are £7 per person and include a sandwich lunch.

We are situated on Peninsula Barracks at the top end of the Winchester city centre. It’s a short walk up from the High Street, just past Winchester’s iconic Westgate and Great Hall.
